Amelia "Amy" Cordes

Age 61, of Mt. Lebanon on Monday, November 27, 2017.  Loving mother of Emily Cordes of NY; daughter of Carmen and the late Rose Mary Vacca; sister of Michael Vacca; former wife of Samuel Cordes; niece of Anthony (Claudette) Rossi, Anita Notte, J. Daniel (Kathy) ,Mario (Connie) and the late Nicholas (Jennie) Vacca; cousin of Mary Wroniak and Donna Erisman. Amy was proud of the hundreds of students she had helped in her 20 years as a Title One Reading Specialist at Dormont Elementary. Her students are truly her legacy.  Family and friends will be welcomed at Laughlin Cremation and Funeral Tributes, 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon Wednesday 5-8p.m. and Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Bernard Church on Friday 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brother’s Brother Foundation 1200 Galveston Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15233.
