Welcome to the memorial page for

Anna Dorothy (Boronky) Wagner

November 15, 1929 ~ January 11, 2018 (age 88) 88 Years Old

On January 11th the Lord called an earthly angel home.  Anna Dorothy Wagner (Boronky) grew up in Duquesne, PA. In the1948 high school yearbook, her personal goal was “To live a happy life,” and that is just what she did. In 1956 she married Francis R. Wagner and they resided in Mt. Lebanon. Their constant devotion to each other lasted 60 years, until his passing in 2015. The love they shared was an example for all of the family, as were her constant good works in the world.  She would unabashedly hug a person with AIDS, or entertain recovering addicts at her table without judgment.  Anna read mail to a blind neighbor and checked on neighbors that were ill.  One of her greatest pleasures was leading the cheering section at St. Anne’s basketball games, where she earned the reputation as one of their greatest fans.  All who attended any games with her will remember it!  Anna retired from Mt Lebanon School District food service at the age of 72 after working 28 years with colleagues, bosses, teachers and students whom she dearly loved.  She was a member of the Christian Mothers of St. Anne Church and was an associate member of the Sisters of Divine Providence.  Anna also walked every Sunday morning to 8:00 AM mass to serve as an usher until she was 85 years old, and she held it as one of greatest honors.

Anna Wagner was the best kind of wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, colleague, neighbor and friend.  She taught us the value of hard work, to avoid envy and to love the Lord above all.  Her memory will continue to be an inspiration to all who knew her and were showered in the joy of her “happy life!”  Special thanks to the staff of the Baptist Home who made her new “home” a place of joy and love.  She truly loved all of you and we were so grateful for your care.  Anna was preceded in death by her husband Francis Wagner, her parents, Mary and Michael Boronky and brother, Michael Boronky (Greensburg).  She is survived by her sister Mary Sikora (Battle Creek, MI) her sister-in-law Esther Humes, her children Michael F. Wagner (Jenny) (Takoma Park, MD) and Nancy Lee Kraemer.  Also her grandchildren Amanda Kraemer, Andrea Rizza (Anthony) (Brooklyn, NY), and Alex (Brooklyn, NY), Ceilidh, and Jack Wagner were God’s greatest gifts to her.  Family and friends will be welcomed at Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon on Sunday, Jan. 14th  from  2-4 and 6-8 pm.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Anne Church, 400 Hoodridge Drive Monday Jan. 15th at 9:30 am. Interment in St. Anne Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Anne School 400 Hoodridge Drive Castle Shannon, Pa 15234.
