Elizabeth "Betty" M. Boyd

Age 96, from Carnegie, formerly of Brookline, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday September 26, 2016. Betty grew up in Oakdale and was the beloved sister of the late Edward A. (Irene), George B. and Samuel Hayes (Sally) Boyd; beloved aunt of Philip Craig (Cheryl) Boyd, Suzanne (Tommy) Duncan, George Edward (Rita) Boyd and the late Betsy Boyd; also survived by her many great nieces and nephews, and her devoted friend Harriet Wells. Betty retired from US Steel 34 years ago, volunteered for Meals on Wheels, the Blood Bank and was active in the Brookline AARP. She traveled extensively throughout the U.S. Friends may call at Laughlin Memorial Chapel 222 Washington Road Mt. Lebanon on Friday 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Service in the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 11:00 AM. Interment Jefferson Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, if desired, memorials may be made to Carnegie Free Library 300 Beechwood Avenue Carnegie, PA 15106.
