Age 84, of Castle Shannon, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday August 2, 2015. Beloved husband of Joan (Ferraro) Shine; devoted father of James (Francine) Shine, Linda (Joseph) Costello and John Shine; loving grandfather of Nicholas and Meghan Kane, Juliet Shine, Angela Shine and Joe Costello; brother of Elizabeth Quinlan and Walter Shine; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Affectionately known as “Bud”, Francis served in the U. S. Army in Germany and was a retired member of Iron Workers, Local 3 - Pittsburgh. He will forever be remembered by family, friends and neighbors for his sense of humor and canning ability to play practical jokes. As recently as the 4th of July, his video camera was rolling as he enjoyed filming the moments shared at family gatherings. Bud’s genuine love for others and undying generosity will be cherished by all those whose life he touched. Friends will be welcomed at Laughlin Memorial Chapel, 222 Washington Road, Mount Lebanon, Thursday from 2:00 until 8:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Grace Church, Kane Boulevard, Scott Twp., Friday morning at 10 o’clock. Interment in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
