Kent Spalding Miller

Age 78, of Mount Lebanon, originally from Chicago and formerly of Oil City, PA, surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, May 28, 2016. Beloved husband of Kathy (Buser) Miller; devoted father of Kristin M. Berlin and Scott P. Miller (Christie); loving grandfather of Jacob and Jared Berlin; Taylor and Scott Miller, Jr.; great-grandfather of Brayden McFalls; brother of the late Judith Miller Woodward; step-father of Brandon D. Smith (Callie), Chelsea S. Bertani (Matthew) and Nathaniel J. Smith; step-grandfather of Liliana and Jack; uncle of Eric, Todd and Peter Oiesen. Kent was a graduate of California University of Pennsylvania and earned his Masters Degree at the University of West Virginia. He was a teacher and administrator with the Mount Lebanon School District for 32 years. Kent was passionate about his woodworking and his model railroads. He was an avid outdoorsman and camper. Friends will be welcomed at Laughlin Memorial Chapel, 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon, Wednesday 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 followed by the Memorial Service at 8 o’clock. Interment will be private. In Lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made to Family Hospice, 50 Moffett Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15243 or the Humane Society.
