Margaret S. (Schietinger) Austin

Age 85, of Pittsburgh,  joined  the Church Triumphant Saturday, Sept 17, 2016  at Providence Point Health Center, where she had been a resident since 2011. Maggie was born in Pittsburgh a daughter of Edward and Leona (Branch) Schietinger June 9, 1931. She graduated from Mount Lebanon High School, and received her B.S. in Nursing from the University of Pittsburgh. Maggie retired as a Nursing Supervisor from Kane Hospital in 1995. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Bethel Park where she served in the choir and various ministries. Family and friends were paramount to Maggie. She is survived by her beloved daughters, Rev. Lea Austin (Gary Huber) of Indiana, PA and JoAnne (Dennis) McCoppin of Washington Court House, OH; grandchildren Leanne (Sean) Reagan of Dayton, OH, and Michael McCoppin of Washington Court House, OH; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Maggie was preceded in death by her sister, Anne Daugherty, with whom she vacationed all over the world, and sister Irene Schilling. Friends will be welcomed in Christ United Methodist Church, 44 Highland Road, Bethel Park Friday afternoon from 1:00 until the Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 in the Main Sanctuary with her daughter, Rev. Lea Austin and Rev. Cindy Schneider presiding. Inurnment will be in the Christ Church columbarium. A light meal will follow the service for family and friends.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Christ United Methodist Church.
