Marlin J. Barklage

Age 91, of Mount Lebanon, on Thursday, May 18, 2017. Beloved husband of Martha and the late Jean K. Barklage for 56 years; devoted father of Gregory C. Barklage and Ceilia Barklage (Anthony Drane); brother of the late Cletus and Kenneth Barklage. Marlin served in the US  Navy during World War II, was a member of the Veteran’s Breakfast Club, and volunteered at Family Hospice in Mount Lebanon. He retired from Shadyside Hospital in 1993 as the Vice President of Human Resources. Marlin belonged to the Peace Lutheran Church. He loved to travel and was an avid reader. Marlin’s fondest passion was for his hometown St. Louis Cardinals; he rarely missed a game and was a living treasury of baseball history and the legends of the game.  Marlin loved a good glass of red wine. Family and friends will gather Tuesday morning from 10 until time of Service at 11 in LAUGHLIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 222 Washington Road, Mount Lebanon.
