Richard Paul 'Dick' Chatak

age 90, of Mt. Lebanon, on Monday September 18, 2017 while a patient at Asbury Heights, following complications from a spinal injury due to a fall sustained in February.  Son of the late Smaile and Susanne (Kraysci) Chatak; husband for 35 years of the late Eva D. (Maglich) Chatak; father of Linda S. and Diane M Chatak both of New Kensington and David R. Chatak of Lower Burrell; brother of Elmer Chatak of Bethesda, MD, the late Emma Bacher, Julia and Smaile Chatak. Richard attended Har Brack High School, Brackenridge, and served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1947, including in the post-World War II occupation of Japan, with a rank of Private First Class.  He had a long career as a union organizer, and was very active in Allegheny County politics. Friends will be welcomed at Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon on Monday September 25, 2017, from 6:00 until 8:00p.m.  Burial will be later at the Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
