Roger A. Raulin

Age 69, of Mt. Lebanon, on Wednesday, May 10, 2017. Beloved husband and partner for 40 years of Joan. Son of Emmy Louise and the late Albert F. Raulin of Naples, FL; brother of Terrance, his wife Janet Raulin of Cincinnati, Paul Raulin of Texas and Kurt Raulin of Atlanta; uncle of Kelly (Andy), Natalie and the late Kyle; great uncle of Coleman; brother-in-law of Jeri, her husband John Ciolli of Munhall, James, his wife Linda Poleski of Hilton Head, the late Jean Irwin and Michael Poleski; also survived by many other nieces and nephews. Roger was born in Springfield, IL the oldest of the Raulin Boys. He spent most of his youth in Marion, OH; was a National Honors Society graduate of Pleasant High School Class of 1966, where he lettered in football and was Student Council President. Roger was especially proud of achieving the rank of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America. He graduated from Miami University, Oxford, OH in 1970 with his BA in Arts and Sciences/pre-law and was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Following graduation, Roger settled in Pittsburgh and started his consulting career in 1970 with Bankers Life (now Principal Financial Group) handling group and pension insurance. He continued consulting in group pensions with Mass Mutual from 1981 until becoming a senior consultant with William M. Mercer in 1987 and senior consultant with HDH Group in 1990. Then in 1992 he established his own firm, Raulin Inc., a fee-only investment consulting firm. In 2015, he sold the firm and  retired as a highly respected consultant in 2016. Roger’s passions included his vegetable gardens which he was proud to share the bounty of with neighbors and friends, his hunting excursions with buddies and fishing with his wife, mom and dad in Naples, FL. Friends will be welcomed at Laughlin Memorial Chapel, 222 Washington Road, Mount Lebanon, Tuesday from 3:00 until 8:00pm. A Service will be held in Ruthfred Lutheran Church, 3401 Patterson Road, Bethel Park, PA 15102, Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 o’clock. Entombment in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery Mausoleum. If desired, memorials may be made to your local Boy Scouts of America Troup.
