Ruth Ann (Hutfles) Hartman

Age 90, of Dormont, on Tuesday, May 5, 2015. Beloved wife of the late Edward A. Hartman; devoted mother of Edward A. (Donna) Hartman, Kathy Ann Hartman, Nancy L. (Bill) Smay, Linda Ann and the late Diane Marie Hartman; loving grandmother of Brian (Carrie) Smay, Diane (Phil) Cardella, Christine (Rich) Schafer, the late Francis, Jessica, Melanie and Edward Hartman; great-grandmother of Drew, Megan, Tony and Dominic Cardella; Dylan and Hunter Schafer; sister of the late Albert and Charles Hutfles; also survived by many nieces, nephews and especially her dear friend Ruth Ley. Ruth Ann was a strong independent widow at age 43, raising her four children alone. Prior to starting her family she had worked for Henne Jewelers then later in life became a supervisor for the John W. Galbreath Company. She had volunteered at the Mt. Lebanon Trading Post and the Dormont Historical Society for many years. Friends will be welcomed at Laughlin Memorial Chapel, 222 Washington Road, Mount Lebanon, Wednesday evening 6-8, Thursday 2-4 and 6-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Bernard Church, Friday afternoon at 1 o’clock. Interment, St. Mary’s Cemetery, Penn Avenue.
