D. Michael Tanner

D. Michael Tanner, 72 of Castle Shannon passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 21, 2022. Son of the late Mayo and Ada (Titus) Tanner; beloved husband of Charlsie Tanner; loving father of Chuck (Lori) Tanner and Jenifer (Russell) Sheridan; grandfather of Stephen Rippe, Justin Boehm and Colin Tanner and brother of Toni (Gerald) Holder. Mike had several passions in life, in addition to his family, he was an avid teacher. An instructor of technology to assist the visually impaired and blind to use specialized equipment to read. An educator of the Masonic teachings, serving as a past master of the Greater South Hills Masonic Lodge and dedicated brother for 46 years as well as past patron of the Anna M. Rote Memorial Chapter of the Eastern Star. Mike also enjoyed amateur radio where he was able to talk with people all over the world and the International Space Station. Friends will be welcomed at Laughlin Cremation and Funeral Tributes, 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon where a masonic service will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 10:00 am, followed by a funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
