Elizabeth L. "Betty" Faisant

Elizabeth Eger (Labai) Faisant, Betty to all who knew her, died at her residence at Nob Hill Apartments on Thursday September 23, 2021.  Betty was born September 2, 1930 in Towson, Maryland, the only child and daughter of A. Edwin and Louise (Eger) Labai. She was a graduate of Towson Catholic High School. As a child she met and grew up with her future husband, Joseph L. Faisant, Jr. (Bud) who preceded her in death in 1999 after 47 years of marriage. Always a proud Marylander, she was also very proud to live in Pittsburgh where she and Bud raised their six children on Parkway Drive in Mt. Lebanon. Betty loved visiting her family and friends in both Pittsburgh and Baltimore and eating crabs when she had the chance.  Her hobbies included needlepoint, knitting, and playing cards.  To beat Betty in a game of rummy was quite an accomplishment.  Betty had a strong Catholic faith and had been a member of the St. Bernard Parish, but after moving to Scott Township, she attended St. John Capistran as she was able. She had a good soul and was a friend to everyone who met her. She will be sorely missed by her children Elizabeth Gail (Bruce) Ludwick; Joseph L. (Kacey) Faisant, III; Nancie (Tony) Ranalli; Susan (Fred) Hummel; John Stephen (Jana) Faisant; and Edwin Norris Faisant and special friend Gwen; 16 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and many relatives and friends in the Baltimore area. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a special grandson, Scott Hummel. The family will receive friends at Laughlin Cremation and Funeral Tributes, 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon, on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 from 4:00 until 7:00 pm. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. John Capistran Church (Resurrection Parish), 1610 McMillan Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15241, on Thursday morning at 10:00 (EVERYONE PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO CHURCH). The Funeral Mass will be live-streamed at https://youtu.be/0zum12cUVbQ  or go to youtube.com and search on Resurrection Parish, Bethel Park (412-833-0031). Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
