Age 87, of Scott Township, formerly of Dormont, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday October 6, 2020. He was passionately devoted to his Christian faith and his family. He is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 66 years, Ethel (Grover) Wolber and he lived his life for her ever since the first day they met. He is the son of the late George Frederick Wolber, Sr. and the late Alma M. (Cromie) Wolber of Dormont. He is the loving father and survived by; Leslie A. Wolber, Larry A. Wolber (Luisa),, Linda A. Fryz (the late Joe), ,Lee A. Wolber (Julie), Lon A. Wolber (Carol) and Lori A. Natoli (Thomas). Brother of the late Kathryn Hebb, Dorthea B. Bearley, Margaret H. McGee and Janet M. McKelvey; also survived by eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren as well as fifteen nieces and nephews. George was a Veteran of the Korean War. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years and had the unique opportunity to be assigned Duty as a Sonar Technician aboard both a U.S. Destroyer and a U.S. Submarine. He was employed by the Columbia Gas Transmission Corporation for 35 years and was involved with the Engineering, design, construction and operation of all types of natural gas processing equipment and related natural gas facilities. He was a member of the Bethel Masonic Lodge #761F & AM and a parishioner of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Mt. Lebanon. There will be no visitation. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
