BRUNETTI
age 87, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2022, at home where she lived with her daughter, Lynn. Joan was born in Dormont, a daughter of Helen and Jacob Hudacek. Beloved wife of the late Phillip "Pap-Pap" Brunetti; devoted mother of Lynn Proie, Michael (Terry) Brunetti, Stephen (Amy) Brunetti, Mark (Beth) Brunetti, Kim (the late Vince) Lusardi and the late Vincent Brunetti; sister of the late Jake and Marilyn; loving “Bubba” of twelve grandchildren, five great grandchildren; also survived by many awesome nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved. Bubba claimed the best years of her life were those spent with her husband, raising her children, dancing, and time spent with her family and friends. She lived a strong faith-based life, praying the rosary daily, participating in service work through Meals on Wheels and volunteering at Kane Hospital. She also enjoyed financially supporting St. Bernard’s church, Little Sisters of the Poor, St Jude’s Hospital and Boys Town. Bubba loved playing cards, Othello, bingo, and watching the Golden Girls and Columbo. She was surrounded by a tremendous support system during her life and especially enjoyed the daily phone calls (her phone book was always near), visits, and cards from loved ones near and far. As she entered her golden years it certainly took a village to care for her and she loved and appreciated the time she was able to spend with her caregivers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Bernard Church, 311 Washington Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15216 on Friday morning, October 7 at 10:00. Interment will be in St. Anne’s Cemetery. If desired, family requests memorial to Little Sisters of the Poor, 1028 Benton Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15212.
