Age 87, of Mount Lebanon, PA passed away peacefully on Thursday May 7, 2020. Beloved wife of the late Francis "Bud" Shine, devoted mother of Jimmy (Francine) Shine, Linda (Joe) Costello and John Shine; loving grandmother of Nicholas and Meghan Kane, Juliet and Angela Shine, and Joey Costello; daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary (Driano) Ferraro; sister of the late Frances Zacchero, Terri DaPra, Jospeh and Raymond Ferraro; also survived by generations of nieces and nephews. Joan will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend; but most indelibly, as an incomparable woman of conviction. She possessed an unyielding exterior, unconditional love for her family, a boundless capacity for friendship, and a laugh that will be truly missed. It was always refreshing to be in her company. Joan enjoyed spending time between Pittsburgh, PA and her home in Florida - where she lived for over twenty years and cultivated countless friendships at the Country Village of Bradenton. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Bernard Church at a later date. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to your favorite charity.
