Margaret "Peg" Churton

Margaret D. “Peg” Churton, age 69 of Mt. Lebanon departed this world on Sunday, September 4, 2022. Beloved wife of forty-five years of John B. Churton, Jr.; loving mother of Molly (Tom) Bopp, Emily (Matt) Hricko and Jake (Brenna O’Shea) Churton; daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Conover Davison; cherished grandmother of Chloe, Lincoln and Truman Bopp, Grace Hricko and two grandchildren on the way; sister of Jim (Jackie) Davison and Anne (Bob) Hartsorn; aunt of Jessica, Janthea, Peter and Abbie. Peg is also survived by countless friends who she loved like family. Peg taught special education in the Mt. Lebanon School District for more than 32 years. Her sense of humor and passion for teaching was apparent to all who encountered her.  Peg was selfless to a fault, always putting others before herself. She was active, competitive, witty, creative and vibrant. From Hadrian’s Wall to the rolling hills of England and Ireland, she loved to travel the world and yet, her most cherished memories were spending time with family at their lake house in upstate New York and relaxing on the beach during summer trips back to her beloved Jersey shore.  Peg became a prolific painter in her limited spare time and her work has served to help loved ones to grieve beloved pets, as well as to brighten up the homes and rooms of her children and grandchildren.  A celebration of Peg’s life is to be held in the near future.
