Mary Rita (Kane) Gallagher

“Rita” Gallagher, age 94, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Thursday November 24, 2022. Rita was the loving wife of James A. Gallagher until his death in 1993. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Graham Kane. Rita was a proud Member of the Daughters of Erin, The Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Castle Shannon Seniors. She worked tirelessly and lovingly with her many friends in these organizations for decades. Rita is survived by her five children who will miss her dearly; Karen (Michael) Young, Sharon (James) Patterson, James Gallagher, John (Maureen) Gallagher and Thomas (Tracy) Gallagher; also survived by eight grandchildren who were the delight of her life, and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers Thomas and John (Jacky) and her daughter in law Sallie Gallagher. Friends will be received on Saturday December 3 from 9:00 AM until time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church, Our Lady of Hope Parish, 5200 Greenridge Dr. Pittsburgh, PA 15236.
