Surrounded by her family’s love, Patty died peacefully on September 30, 2022 at the age of 74, after a brief but courageous battle against brain cancer. As she entered the Lord’s kingdom, she was reunited with her beloved husband Michael A. Gaglia, Sr. (1986), as well as her parents, Rudolph A. and Helen P. Richtar and her brothers, Danny and Tommy. She was the most loving, kind and devoted mother of Michael A. Gaglia, Jr. (Belinda) and Kimberly Callaghan (Paul). Her greatest joy came from her grandchildren Theresa, Andrew, Aiden, Steven, Nicholas and Mikayla Callaghan and Michael and John Gaglia. They will miss her terribly and will keep her memory alive in all that they do. Dear sister of Rudy Richtar (Elaine), Mary “Kate” Phillipy (David) and Frances Berkeybile (Jim); sister-in-law of Martha Gaglia (the late Vincent), Sr. Anna Marie Gaglia, C.S.J., Rosemary Gaglia, Mary Frances Morgavo (the late Jeff) and the late Pauline Gaglia; also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Pat was a dedicated employee at DePaul School for Hearing and Speech from 1986 until 2014. The family will receive friends at Laughlin Cremation and Funeral Tributes, 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon, on Monday, October 3, 2022 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Anne Church (St. Paul of the Cross Parish), 400 Hoodridge Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15234, on Tuesday morning at 9:30 (EVERYONE, PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of Flowers, contributions may be made to DePaul School for Hearing and Speech, 6202 Alder Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15206.
