Russell Broman Obituary

65, of Upper St. Clair, died on Tuesday, August 11, 2020. Son of the late Steward R. and Alberta Loeffel Broman; beloved and devoted husband for 34 years of Beverly Woodall Broman; loving brother of Scott E. and the late Douglas P. Broman. Brother-in-law of Linda Broman and Thomas Woodall (Alberta); dear uncle of Caitlin E. Broman of Upper St. Clair, Jean Corrente (Jeff) of Palm Harbor, FL, Mark Woodall, Michael Woodall, Jeff McCallum and the late Jeffrey Woodall, all of Boise, ID; beloved "Dog-Dad" of Yogi and dear companion, Lizzie and the late Dusty, Fawny, Tory, Annie, Lady, Lincoln, Franklin, Paula Sue, Max and Persy. Russell graduated from Upper St. Clair High School in 1972 and received his Associate of Arts Degree from Community College of Allegheny County - South Campus in 1975. He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh in 1978 and his Master of Arts Degree in Political Science, also from the University of Pittsburgh, in 1980. He received his Juris Doctor Degree in Law from Duquesne University School of Law in 1985 and was a member of law review. He joined the Allegheny County District Attorney's Office in 1985 as an Assistant District Attorney and later as a Special Assistant District Attorney. During his career at the District Attorney's Office, he worked in the General Trial Unit, Investigations, Grand Jury, Appeals, Automobile Insurance Fraud and lastly, Violent Crimes and Firearms. He was admitted to practice at the Pennsylvania Superior Court, Pennsylvania Supreme Court and the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania in 1985. He was admitted to practice at the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and in 1996, was admitted to practice at the United States Supreme Court. Russell was a member for over 20 years of the Western Pennsylvania Civil War Round Table and served as its president from 2001 until 2011. Viewing and Interment in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery will be private for the family only. A public memorial service will be announced sometime in the fall. The family requests NO FLOWERS, PLEASE.
