Sofia P. Milano

Sofia went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, March 2, 2021.   She was born on September 12, 1920 a daughter of the late Angelina (Corsale) and Joseph Paravati. Beloved wife of the late Angelo Milano; loving mother of the late Sandra L. Mowry; sister of the late Elizabeth “Betty” Coletta, Frank and Joseph Paravati, Jr.  Sofia leaves behind many who loved her spirit and special zest for life, including her cherished grandchildren, John (Veronica) Mowry of Canonsburg and Susan Mowry (Jimmy Parey) of Whitehall; faithful Godmother of Andrea Coletta Smith of Colorado; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Over 100 years she acquired many friends who lovingly called her “Gramm”. Her bright light will continue to shine from heaven as it did her entire life. Sofia was an active member of the Eastern Star rising to the position of Worthy Matron dedicated to helping many charities.  She was owner of Brentwood Ornamental Iron with her husband.  Sofia graced this Earth for over 100 years waving her “magic wand” showering those fortunate enough to know her with love, positive thoughts and encouragement.  She left an indelible impression of kindness and compassion with everyone she met.  She faced these last few months with courage, good humor and that famous “Paravati” feistiness.  Although we mourn her death, we celebrate the love, life and passion she applied to every day.   Love you more Gramm until we can hug again.  You will be forever missed. A private interment with only her Grandchildren will be at Jefferson Mausoleum.  Because of her great love of animals, especially dogs, the family suggests donations to Paunderdogmutts@gmail.com
