Just wanted to post an update to honor Miss Amy Cordes as my reading teacher. I am graduating the Elementary school and will be attending KO Middle School. I still miss our reading times together, mostly I miss you. I know you are happy where you are as you are reading and teaching reading to all the little ones. I know all little ones will get to hear you read. Read in Peace.

God has given me a gift knowing Amy for a short time. She was definitely a kind and gentle lady. I can only offer my prayers and extend heartfelt sympathy to the entire family.

Ms. Cordes was a special lady! My son was her student many years ago and we appreciate all she did for all the students she taught including my son! We are so sorry for your loss! Love and prayers to the entire family!

Amy was a truly lovely and kind person. She always had a smile and kind word for everyone, students and colleagues alike. I taught with Amy at Dormont for quite a few years and always admired her pleasant demeanor. She was so supportive and encouraging to her students. Her passing is a loss for the entire community.

We are so sad to hear about Mrs Cordes passing. My oldest was very upset. She was one of the hundreds of kids who Mrs Cordes helped pull out from her timid ness with reading. When I told her, she clutched her chest and said, ‘she’s the reason I love reading.’ She will truly be missed. She was always such a positive and friendly face in our school’s hallway.

Amy was a lovely, quiet unassuming person with so many talents and skills which she utilized in helping her students learn to read. I spent time with her just last month at a Dormont School party and so enjoyed talking with her about her new home and exchanging recipes. She spoke lovingly of her daughter and her accomplishments and seemed very happy. I, like many others, am shocked that we have lost her at such a young age and grieve her passing along with her family and many friends.
