Welcome to the memorial page for

Daniel H. Hepler

October 21, 1946 ~ May 6, 2017 (age 70) 70 Years Old

Age 70,  of Scott Township, formerly of Mount Lebanon,  died peacefully and finally out of pain, Saturday, May  6, 2017. He was born October 21, 1946,  a son of  the late Mabel Platt Hepler and John Hepler.  He is survived by his wife and best friend, Gwen; his two boys Brad (Pam) and Rob (Colette); his brother John (Lois) and his sister  the late Dottie;  in-laws Win Shisler, Fred and Barbara Anklam;  several nieces and nephews. Dan was a dear friend who gave so very generously of his many talents. Technology came easily to him and he graciously helped so many of us resolve perplexing computer questions.  He spearheaded the communications committee and worked with Bob Moll to create SPC's first webpage.  Dan frequently thought of friends and family as he forwarded emails that he thought we'd find interesting or entertaining. He  shared his love of music as a dedicated SPC choir member and didn't he bring us all so many laughs and great fun with his quick wit, dry sense of humor, and his amazing ability to have a joke ready for almost any situation. Dan truly loved life, deeply and devotedly loved his dear Gwendolina, his sons Rob and Brad, and his many friends.  He was a very special man who will be deeply missed. We are blessed to have shared so many happy and joyous times together.  Come celebrate his life on Saturday, May 13 at 4 PM at Southminster Presbyterian Church, 799 Washington Road, Pgh., Pa., 15228, where everyone will have the opportunity to share their thoughts and memories of Dan, Dan the techno-man. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to WQED FM; the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra or Southminster Presbyterian Church (spchurch.org).
