Gertrude H. (Geneske) Farrell

age 83, of Mt. Lebanon passed away peacefully on March 29th, 2018, surrounded by her family. She was married to the late George T. Farrell. Beloved mother of George Farrell, Eileen Edson, and Jane Ann (Jack) Broeren. Loving, fun grandmother of eight wonderful grandchildren: Jacqueline, Victoria and George Farrell, Emily, John, and Patrick Edson, and Kathryn and Matthew Broeren. She was born in Pittsburgh on April 25th, 1934. Gertrude graduated from Mount Mercy (now Carlow University) with a degree in biology and upon graduation, worked at Montefiore Hospital. She was an original co-owner of The Fabric Place. Gertrude’s creativity flourished in sewing, painting, cooking and she enjoyed skating as well. Friends will be welcomed at Laughlin’s Funeral Home, 222 Washington Road, Mount Lebanon, PA on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 from 4:00 – 8:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 10:00am in Saint Bernard Church, 311 Washington Road Pittsburgh, PA 15216. Interment will be held at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to Carlow University Advancement, 3333 Fifth Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213 or One Day to Remember, P.O.
