Mary Stella (O'Donnell) Tatangelo

Age 95, of Mount Lebanon, on Wednesday July 11, 2018. Born July 6, 1923 a daughter of the late Daniel and Stella (Casey) O’Donnell; beloved wife for 65 years of the late Arthur R. Tatangelo; devoted mother of Arthur (Sheila) Tatangelo, Phyllis (John) Picoulas, Marilyn (Russ) Shiwarski and William (Cindy) Tatangelo; sister of Anne O’Connor, Ellen Checchio, the late Howard O’Donnell, Tessie Dopler and Frances Garthwaite; also survived by 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, countless nieces, nephews and cousins. Mary served as a Navy civilian during WWII. After the war she met Arthur on a blind date, they were married June 30, 1949 and lived a blessed life full of love and service. Mary worked for and retired from the Army Corp. of Engineers. She was an active volunteer at St. Anne Church and School; was proud member Christian Mothers and the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians. Mary excelled as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She happily spent her final years in the loving, faith filled community of the Baptist Home. The family wishes to gratefully thank the residents and staff who filled her life with love. Friends will be welcomed at Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 1008 Castle Shannon Boulevard, Castle Shannon Sunday from 3:00 until 7:00p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Anne Church, Monday morning at 9:30. If desired, memorials may be made to St. Anne Church or the Baptist Home - Employee Appreciation Fund.
