Obituary

A long time resident of Scott Township and originally from Dormont. It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful death of our mother, Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Welch on Saturday evening, October 12, 2019. She was surrounded by her loving children Ann David, William Welch, Robert Welch, Mary Satterfield (Bob), Michael Welch, Jeanne Sopher (Steven) and Suzanne Janitor (John). Betty was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Edith A. Englert; sister of the late Helen M. Shields (Bill) and Charles A. Englert, Jr. (survived by Judy).  She leaves behind her adored grandchildren, Suzanne and Christine David (fiancé Alberto Trujillo) and Stephanie, Andrew (friend Sarah Rice) and Patrick Welch (fiancée Hollie Amato), Ted Sopher and many nieces and nephews. Betty was devoted to her Catholic faith, family and home.  Friends will be welcomed at Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon, PA on Tuesday October 15, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Grace Church, Scott Township, PA on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., with internment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial gift to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 1028 Benton Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15212.
