Alberta "Birdie" Schmidt Obituary

Of Pittsburgh, on Friday November 8, 2024, while battling lung cancer. She was born on June 28, 1949, to the late Albert and Gladys Muko. She was preceded in death by her late husband of 43 years, William "Buddy" Schmidt, USMC; her siblings, Gladys (Anthony) Casciato, Kathleen Heinzl and Albert (Barbara) Muko; mother of Bill Schmidt and Tracie (David) Lane; loving Grannie to Elizabeth (Dillon) Brennan and David Lane. Birdie just became a great-grandmother to Caleb Brennan. Also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as dear friends where she resided at the Baptist Manor. In honor of Birdie's wishes, there will not be visitation or services. Instead, the family requests contributions be made to the Wounded Warrior Project 875 Greentree Rd. Bldg. 7, Suite 700 Pittsburgh, PA 15220, in her memory and to preserve her pride and support of our country's Veterans.
