Alice T. Nourie

Age 92, of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 12, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Thomas O. Nourie. Loving mother of Rhonda M. Judd (the late Barry R. Judd), Andrea McCrum (R. Timothy McCrum), and the late Jeffrey P. Nourie and Steven M. Nourie. Dear grandmother of Nicholas R. Judd (Lauren), Shannon M. Olsheski (Adam), Olivia S. Krolczyk (Stephen), Blake O. Nourie, Megan Gerardi (Michael), Kelsey Roob (Adam), Brian McCrum (Lucy), Colleen DeLaFleur (Cameron) and Shane McCrum (Mary). Great-grandmother of 19 great-grandchildren. In addition to her devotion to her family, Alice was a faithful servant of God as a Roman Catholic. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Bernard’s Church where she had served as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector, and visited nursing home residents to pray with them before she needed care herself. She loved gardening at her Mt. Lebanon residence of nearly 50 years, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. After her husband Tom passed away in 1987, she became active in helping other widows find hope in their grief. A civil servant as well, she volunteered at her local library, was an active member of the Republican Women’s organization, and diligently served as a Judge of Elections over many years. Her hobbies included gardening, reading, writing, and knitting. She passed along these loves to many of her family members. Her grandchildren remember her teaching them how to knit, and several of them have become writers and gardeners as well. Family and Friends welcome Wednesday, August 16th, from 1-4 pm, where a Rosary will be said at 3:00 pm at Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 222 Washington Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15216. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, on Thursday, August 17th, at St. Michael the Arch Angel Parish, St. Bernard Church, 311 Washington Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15216. Interment to follow in Calvary Cemetery.
