Amy Maykranz, age 66, of Scott Township and a former, longtime resident of Mt. Lebanon, died suddenly on Friday, August 14, 2026 at St. Clair Hospital of complications of sarcoidosis.  Amy was the sixth of 9 children born to the late Patricia Ann (Baguet) Maykranz and Harry Maykranz.  Amy attended Mt. Lebanon public schools and earned her bachelor’s degree from Carlow College at age 55 in May 2015. Amy’s work life included providing administrative services primarily to the banking, legal and insurance industries, all in the Pittsburgh area. Significantly, for more than 8 years, Amy served as her mother’s primary caregiver. Amy’s greatest joy was in the times she spent with her extended family, whether it was a simple backyard barbecue, a group bike ride, a sibling getaway or a family wedding. Indeed, Amy often initiated the plans for such get-togethers. Amy was the “fun” sibling and aunt, always ready with a quick quip or humorous retort. She was a caring sister to her siblings and a caring aunt and great-aunt to her 10 nieces and nephews, her 3 great-nieces and 3 great-nephews, regularly checking in to see how everyone was doing and always remembering birthdays. Amy was predeceased by her parents, her brother, Todd, and her sister, Jill.  She is survived by and lovingly remembered by her siblings Jacqueline (Eric) Kraeutler, Tim (William) Matheson, Mark (Kim), Eric, Laurie (Nicholas) Freeman, Mollie (Thomas) Suddath and her 10 nieces and nephews and 6 great-nieces and nephews.
