Angeline M. Doyle (D’Agostino)

January 14, 1934 – July 13, 2026

Angeline M. Doyle, affectionately known as Angie, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2026, at the age of 92 after complications from a fall two days earlier.

Born on January 14, 1934, in Ravena, New York, Angie was the beloved daughter of the late Francesco and Vincenzia D’Agostino and the cherished sister of Theresa D’Agostino Zabinski and Salvatore D’Agostino. Her parents and older sister immigrated from Taormina, Sicily, and the strength, perseverance, and devotion to family rooted in her Sicilian heritage shaped Angie throughout her life.

At the age of 19, Angie married Herbert “Herb” Fleck and moved to the Pittsburgh area, where she raised her three children and lived for most of her life. After facing the challenges of becoming a single parent and experiencing financial hardship, she earned an associate’s degree later in life and worked as a secretary at Westinghouse Electric Company’s nuclear division and later in the banking industry.

Angie’s 92 years were defined by remarkable resilience. She survived a stroke, overcame breast cancer and COVID pneumonia, lived courageously with congestive heart failure, and recovered from serious injuries following falls. Through it all, she rarely complained and met life’s challenges with determination, curiosity, and a stubborn persistence that became one of her defining qualities.

Angie was very social and loved traveling and visited Europe frequently, including Taormina, the birthplace of her parents, and Rome, where she visited family. She also enjoyed Puerto Rico, Atlantic City, and the Southern California coast, where she lived for several years with her second husband, John (Jack) Doyle, before returning to Pittsburgh to be close to family.

She loved spending time with her many friends and family, Italian food, classic movies, reading juicy biographies, and spirited political discussions. An accomplished pianist in her younger years, Angie performed the technically demanding Greek Concerto at her high school graduation. Her love of music remained with her throughout her life, and just weeks before her death, she expressed a desire to begin playing the piano again.

Angie was also delightfully absentminded and provided her family with countless stories that will continue to bring laughter for generations. Her determination to get where she was going, figuratively and literally, was legendary, even if it occasionally involved driving the wrong way down a one-way street.

For the last five years of her life, Angie enjoyed a special friendship with Charles Brush, whose companionship brought her happiness and new adventures and who became a dear friend of the family.

Above all else, family was the center of Angie’s world. She was happiest when surrounded by those she loved and firmly believed that every family member should attend every family gathering, every holiday, and then some.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Cynthia (Cindy) Eldredge and Diane Laemmle, and her husband, Christopher Laemmle; her son, Brian Fleck, and his fiancée, Lauren Sniegockie; along with her eight grandchildren, Joshua (Heather), Kristina (Christopher), Laura (Michael), Rebecca (George), Kathryn, Jamie (Amber), Michael, Sofia; eight great-grandchildren William, Derek, Jocelyn, Alexa, Isaac, Elijah, Emmett, Ian; and two great-great-grandchildren Anthony and Ayla.

In her final days, Angie repeatedly spoke of her love for her children and assured them that she was comfortable and at peace.

Angie leaves behind a legacy of resilience, tenacity, curiosity, and unconditional love. Her memory will live on in every family gathering, shared Italian meal, spirited discussion, beautiful piece of piano music, and story that brings laughter to those who knew and loved her.

A cremation will take place in accordance with Angie’s wishes. Friends will be received on Thursday, July 30 from 11am until the time of service at 12:30pm at Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 222 Washington Rd. Pittsburgh, PA 15216. Inurnment to follow in Penn Forest Natural Burial Park. 

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Angie’s memory are encouraged to spend time with loved ones, share a wonderful meal, read a good book, enjoy a classic movie or beautiful music, travel somewhere meaningful, or extend kindness to someone in need.
