Brenda K. (Turner) Vogel passed to her heavenly home on Thursday, July 11. 2024 from Congestive Heart Failure and Respiratory Failure. Her husband of over 50 years, Chuck Vogel, was by her side and held her hand during the last few moments of her life. Brenda was born on October 18, 1944, in Meadville, PA and attended Grove City College earning a Bachelor's Degree. She worked at Mellon Bank in Pittsburgh and became a computer programmer. In 1973 she met Chuck Vogel, the love of her life, in the church choir and they were married in March of 1974. Shortly thereafter Chuck’s son came to live with them, and they rapidly became very close. Last March Brenda and Chuck celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary.
Brenda had many talents from making beautiful needlepoint to counted cross-stitch. Additionally, she played the piano, was an avid handbell ringer and soloist, sung in many choirs, and participated in a mixed quartet for several years. She was active in the Pittsburgh Symphony’s Auxiliary and was a tour guide at Heinz Hall for 20 years. She was very involved with the church and as a resident at Concordia of the South Hills. Brenda was known for her infectious smile and positive attitude. She always saw the good in folks and was ready and willing to jump in and help.
Memorial Service at Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church on Saturday, July 20, at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Brenda's name may be made to the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church.
