Carol Wick,, age 60, died on Saturday, May 23 2020, after a long struggle with frontotemporal dementia, a rare neurodegenerative disease. She was the daughter of Margaret Weber Wick and the late William Wick. In addition to her mother, survivors include her sisters, Mary Wick and Colleen Wick; her brothers, William Wick (Debra) and John Wick (Anita) and their children and grandchildren; as well as her loving aunts, cousins and friends. Carol graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School in 1978, and from Northwestern University in 1982. After college, she lived in Chicago and enjoyed her work as an independent film producer for corporate clients. Later in her career, as her business expanded, she also offered event planning services to her clients. She could plan the meeting or conference where her videos would be shown. Carol was a member of the Holy Name Cathedral parish in Chicago, and a long-time usher at her church. She was a world-traveler, an occasional freelance comedy writer, and a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. When her disease advanced, Carol returned to Pittsburgh to be near relatives. Carol's family wants to thank on her behalf the many devoted caregivers and therapists at Asbury Health Center in Mt. Lebanon, for their kindness and skill during her final months. Earlier, Carol had been well-cared for with great patience at Asbury Place and at Arden Courts of Jefferson Hills. A Blessing Service was held at Laughlin Cremation and Funeral Tributes, 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon, on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 10:00 am. Interment followed in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. A memorial mass will be held at a later date.
