Carole A. Skelly

 Age 77 of Dormont, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, with her loved ones by her side.  She recently battled and beat stage 4 breast cancer but unfortunately succumbed to another illness.

Born in Crafton, PA on December 22, 1948, Carole was the daughter of the late Thomas and Grace Ryan. Beloved wife of 58 years of John R. ’Rich’ Skelly; loving mother of John and Paul Skelly (Jenny); grandmother of Lucas, Landon, Logan and Leigha Skelly.  Proceeded in death by her brothers Robert ‘Bob’ Ryan (Marlene), and Thomas ‘Tom’ Ryan (Peggy). She is survived by her brother Timothy ‘Tim’ Ryan (Vikki), and her nieces Tracey Simpson, Susan Maze, Maureen Ryan, Megan Ryan Koroly, Brigid Ryan Kane and Stephanie Ryan and great nieces and nephews.

The family gatherings and celebrations will not be the same without her wedding soup, stuffed cabbage and potato salad. The Holidays will be missing her Christmas cookie table and Thanksgiving apple pies. There was never a family function where Carole did not have something delicious in hand to share with everyone. A birthday or holiday was never missed, because she made sure you had a greeting card in the mail!

Some of Carole's interests included going downtown to watch a current show at the Benedum, lover of music, especially the Beatles. She had a love to explore her family heritage and spent hours researching the family history.  She could tell you everything about a person or the family just by looking at a picture.  We have no doubt that Carole is checking to see if pigs really do fly.  If you know Carole, she loved her pigs and had a huge collection to prove it. Family and friends will be received at Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon, on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8.  Mass of Christian Burial will be offered in St. Bernard Church, St. Michael the Archangel Parish on Tuesday at 10:00 AM.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Clair Hospital Cancer Center, Radiation Oncology, affiliated with UPMC Hillman Cancer Center 1000 Bower Hill Road Pittsburgh, PA 15243
