Age 87, of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025, with family by her side. Devoted wife of the late Frank Dasta; daughter of the late James and Adeline Guerriero; beloved mother of Frank (Stacey), Eric (Kathleen), Steven (Lauren) and Matthew (Ashley); loving grandmother of Frank, Marissa, Daniel, Kelly, Eric, Grace, Jack, Vincent and Anna; sister of James, Kathleen, Ann and the late John and Patricia; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
One of Carolyn’s greatest joys in life was her grandchildren. She cherished everything about being their “Nana.” Her fondest memories were those of doing arts and crafts, having tea parties, running to Wendy’s for lunch, playing board games, or simply watching a Disney movie with her grandchildren. Spoiling her grandchildren was Nana’s passion.
Christmas was Carolyn’s favorite time of the year. She started shopping for everyone in the middle of the summer, if not sooner. Anytime she saw something that she thought you might like, whether it was at Kaufmann’s where she had an over-used employee discount or on QVC where she was the queen home shopping, she made the purchase and stashed the gifts away in her closet for months on end. The annual Christmas Eve party was Carolyn’s favorite family gathering. She couldn’t wait to see her brothers and sisters, so she could start handing out the gifts that had taken days for her to wrap. Carolyn loved celebrating Christmas Eve with friends and family. That party was a family tradition for decades and holds many of her fondest memories.
Having a monthly “Sisters” meal at a local restaurant, usually Italian, with Patty, Kathy, and Ann brought Carolyn great joy. Whether the meal was to celebrate a birthday or just to get together for a few laughs and to catch up, she looked forward to each and every one of those “Sisters” dinners. Spending time with family was the most important thing in Carolyn’s life, and she will be greatly missed.
