Charles T. Laufer

Charles T. Laufer, of Mt. Lebanon, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at the age of 96.

Beloved husband of 73 years to Mary Laufer; cherished father of Clifford (Beth Hook) Laufer, Donald (Imako) Laufer, Charles (Sharon) Laufer, and Russell (Carol) Laufer; devoted grandpa to Claire Laufer.

Charles was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1927. In 1944 “Charley” started working with the New York Central Railroad as a yard clerk and over time moved into the sales division. After a long career, he retired with the P&LE Railroad. Charles also served in the U.S. Army from 1946-1947. In addition to his passion for trains, Charles was also a longtime member of Bower Hill Community Church.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 24, at 11:00am at Bower Hill Community Church, 70 Moffett St. Pittsburgh, PA 15243.
