Charles Augustine Schaldenbrand

Age 87, formerly of Mt. Lebanon, PA passed away softly and peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, November 23, 2023. Devoted husband of Eileen (Manning); proud father of Edward (Fëlyn), Heinz (Ashley), Elizabeth (Braden) Wheeler, Seamus, Peter, and the late Linda Joan Schaldenbrand; ‘Honored Pop’ of Miles Lawrence and Archer Nash; brother of Alice, Edward, Michael and Maureen; also survived many nieces, nephews and extended family. Chas was a life-long entrepreneur, owning several businesses from Stetson Shoes to Heinz Healey’s gentleman’s apparel. He supported the arts in Pittsburgh through the Station Square Amphitheater and Play House, and was a dedicated servant to his church and community. Family and friends will gather at Saint Bernard Church (St. Michael the Archangel Parish) 311 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon on Tuesday morning, November 28th from 9:30 until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 o’clock. In lieu of flowers, Chas’ family requests that donations be made in his memory to the St. Vincent DePaul Society, of which he was a dedicated member for over 30 years.
