On Tuesday, March 28th, 2023, Christine M. “Tina” LaMark, of Mt. Lebanon, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 76.
The daughter of the late Stephen and Mildred Meszaros; Christine is survived by her husband of 50 years, Michael W. LaMark; son Douglas M. LaMark; and sisters Margaret Melle, Marie Burleson, and Marilyn Ackerman. She will be missed by sister-in-laws: Judith Schneider, Claudia Kirey, Susan Bomba, Deborah Adams; and brother-in-laws: James LaMark, Joseph LaMark, and John LaMark. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
Christine graduated with a double major from Clarion University and continued on to receive her masters in Library Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh. Employed by the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh for over fifty years, she began as a librarian at the ready reference desk. She was then promoted to an assistant director and head of Inner Library Loans. Christine was also an active member of many local, state, and national library associations. Tina, as she was known, lead a full life of outdoor adventures and scholarly pursuits. Her activities included biking, hiking, spelunking, rafting, and reading a good book. During her life, Christine visited over thirty different countries and a vast portion of the United States with her husband and son. She will always be remembered as a caring, thoughtful, and generous individualist.
Friends will be received Monday, April 3, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Laughlin Cremation and Funeral Tributes, 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon, PA 15216. Where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 4, at 10:00am.
