Age 33, of Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania, died tragically on June 30 after intervening in an attempted car theft outside his home in Denver, Colorado.

Chris leaves behind his wife, Clara Thompson, and their 11-month-old daughter, Kaia Charlotte, both of whom he cherished and adored.

Chris was born on July 19, 1992, in Newton, Massachusetts, the firstborn son of Dr. Eric Nabors and Marian “Missy” Nabors. After the family returned to Pittsburgh, Chris welcomed his younger brother, William McCarthy “Will” Nabors. The two spent their childhood doing nearly everything together, surrounded by the love of their grandparents, Christine and David Nabors, Glenda and William Arthurs, and Thomas Carney.

Chris took tremendous pride in being Will’s older brother. He was fiercely protective, deeply devoted, and always ready to offer guidance, encouragement, or support. Their bond remained one of the most important relationships in Chris’s life. From the time he was a young child and throughout his life, nothing mattered more to Chris than his relationships with his family and his many close friends.

In high school, Chris excelled in football, lacrosse, and track, breaking the WPIAL record as a hurdler. After graduating from Mt. Lebanon High School and attending Bridgton Academy in Maine, Chris enrolled at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Art History. During college, Chris expanded his athletic and intellectual pursuits to include fly fishing, hunting, kayaking, boxing, architecture, landscape design, cooking, travel, and entrepreneurship. Along the way, he formed friendships that he treasured throughout his life. Chris was also a devoted Steelers fan, an avid skier and golfer, and a lifelong lover of Golden Retrievers, especially Charlie, whom he loved with all his heart.

Following his college graduation in 2017, Chris spent three months traveling throughout Europe, an adventure and chapter of his life that he always cherished. He then returned to Pittsburgh and began a successful career in medical device sales with Zimmer Biomet. His natural leadership abilities and remarkable capacity to connect with people from all walks of life served him well throughout his career.

After five years with Zimmer Biomet, Chris made the bold decision to move to Denver and pursue his dream of living near the mountains and two of his closest friends, Beau Demmler and Scott Montross. He continued his career in medical sales with Stryker Corporation.

While living in Denver, Chris met his wife, Clara, and together they welcomed their beautiful daughter, Kaia, into the world nearly one year ago. Chris embraced his roles as a husband and father with immense love and devotion. Clara and Kaia were the center of his world, and the joy he found in building a life and family with them was evident to everyone who knew him.

In addition to his immediate family, Chris will be deeply missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends from every phase and facet of his life. All who knew and loved Chris will remember his rare blend of genuine kindness, charisma, personal style, loyalty, and sense of humor.

Family and friends will be welcomed at Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon on Saturday, August 1st from 11:00 in the morning until 1:00 o’clock in the afternoon. The Private Family burial will follow at Mount Lebanon Cemetery.

Friends are invited to share their favorite memories and honor Chris’s life at a Gathering of Remembrance on Saturday, August 1, at 6:30 p.m. at Valley Brook Country Club in McMurray, Pennsylvania.
