Age 99, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, May 20, 2023. Beloved husband for 52 years of the late Elizabeth (Grudovich) Lineburg; devoted father of Lois (Tom) Horan, Kathleen (Michael) Fassinger and Louise (William) Martin; proud grandfather of Maria Martin, William (Justin) Martin, Jared (Christina Horan, Brenna (Eric) Dietrich, Amber (Greg) Hough, Ashley (Jake) Wilbur and Devin Martin; great grandfather of Kenzie Fassinger, Preston Dietrich, Hannah Horan, Paisleigh Dietrich, Hayley Horan, Henry and Theodore Hough. Born on March 13, 1924, at Cumberland Memorial Hospital, West Virginia; number 8 of nine of the John Raymond and Martha Jane Lineburg children. He graduated from Berkley Springs High School then worked a year for Fairchild Aircraft Factory in Hagerstown, MD. Drafted into the Army in 1942 where he studied logistics for 2 years and served one year in the U S Army Fire Department. Honorably Discharged as a Staff Sergeant in 1945. Clarence worked one year in the offices at U S Steel Company and 2 years at the Christy Park Works. In 1948 he took a job with Consolidated Coal Company in the South Hills of Pittsburgh working in the Analytical Lab, later moving to the Organic Lab as an analyst which he retired form in 1985. Clarence lived in Castle Shannon on Grove Road for some 60 years; moved to Brookdale Independent Living in Mt. Lebanon prior to moving to New Hope Gracious Personal Care in Avalon. Clarence had a wonderful, positive and young outlook on life and always wore a smile! He loved gardening, music, theatre, books, travel, baseball, bowling and was King of the jigsaw puzzles. Friends will be welcomed at Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon on Friday morning from 10:45 until we leave for Forest Lawn Gardens at 11:45 for a Military Honors Salute.
