Every new day is a gift! This is not only a toast that Clifford Tuttle, Jr habitually made, but the primary guiding principle of his life. (Literally) Born on the 4th of July in 1947, to parents Clifford. L Tuttle, Sr and Julianne Tuttle in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Clifford was a enthusiast for all things relating to the history of the United States. This zeal for history inspired him to publish many articles about a variety of local topics.
Cliff attended South Catholic High School, then University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for his undergraduate degree. In his mission for helping his neighbor, he then attended Duquesne University in pursuit of his law degree. During this time, he met the love of his life and future wife, from whom he rarely permitted himself to be sundered. Cliff’s love of life and of his neighbor led him to be involved in a spectrum of humanitarian organizations including (but not limited to) Those Who Wait, Southwinds, Casa San Jose, and Living Stones.
Clifford Tuttle passed away on October 23, 2020 at home surrounded by his immediate family. He is survived by his wife Marylyn, Daughter, and Son-in-law. His funeral Mass will be on Saturday October 31, 2020 at 10am at St. Bernard’s Church in Mt. Lebanon. In keeping with ideals, in lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to Living Stones Soup Kitchen and St. Michael the Archangel Food Pantry.
