Cyril "Jeff" A. Derek

Cyril A. “Jeff” Derek, son of the late John and Catharine Derek, passed away on March 27th, 2025 in Pittsburgh, PA at the age of 85. Originally from Latrobe, PA he was preceded in death by his loving wife and high school sweetheart Barbara Sinkey Derek and his beloved late siblings, Rita Derek, Mary Catherine Zvirblis, Charles Derek, Teresa Friedline, Bertha Shikora, Regina Hile, Josephine Macey, Pauline Jackson, Marie Joyce and Colette Zeglin. His surviving daughters are Renee Derek (Mark) Maines and granddaughters Cassie and Suzie of Winchester, VA, Roxane Derek (Anthony) Agostinelli and granddaughter Mia of Mt. Lebanon, PA, and Jennifer Derek (Joseph) Pedrazzoli and grandsons Max, Roman and Xander also of Mt. Lebanon, PA. After earning his degree by traveling back and forth to Pittsburgh for 9 years of night school at Carnegie Mellon University, formerly Carnegie Tech, Jeff spent most of his career as a mechanical engineer for Derry Westinghouse. He loved golfing at the Latrobe Elks and also was an avid car enthusiast. In his retirement, he drove a school bus in Latrobe and enjoyed being a handyman to whoever needed the help. The interment will be held at noon on Wednesday, April 2nd at St. Vincent Cemetery in Latrobe, PA.
