Daniel J. Shaffer III Obituary
On April 22, 2025, Daniel J. Shaffer III was called home to be with God. He was a Mt. Lebanon resident for over 45 years. Dan grew up in Ellwood City and earned his B.S. from Geneva College and his M.S. from Youngstown State University. He had a passion for teaching and taught at various Intermediate Units across the region. He will forever be remembered for his kindness, incredible sense of humor, love for his friends and family and his faith in God. Dan’s proudest roles were as a husband and father and he excelled in both, selflessly giving his wife and son the perfect lives. His devotion to his family exemplified his exceptional character. He lovingly served as a leader in the Southminster Presbyterian Church congregation and lived the Word of God. Dan also had deep respect for our military and served as a member of the West Point Field Force for many years, helping to shape the future of our nation’s military leaders. The grace that Dan brought to this world will live on in all of those whom he touched. He is survived by his son, Daniel J. Shaffer IV, his daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Shaffer, and his future grandson, Daniel J. Shaffer V.
