With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Donna M. Rosleck (Clark), 85, on October 27, 2024. Donna was a treasured member of the Dormont, PA community, and she left the world surrounded by the love and memories of her cherished family, friends, and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank “Sparky” Clark and Anna Clark, and by her husband, Robert Rosleck, and by her siblings, Jimmy Clark, Joanne Pegg, Lorraine Jones, Jeannie O’Connor, Billy Ward, and Dolores Fratangelo. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Robbin Gladys (the late Perry Gladys), and her two grandsons, Shawn Gladys (Lauren Darcangelo Gladys) and Daniel Gladys, and countless other family members and friends.
Donna was a devoted crossing guard in Dormont for over 40 years, a role through which she touched the lives of countless children, parents, and residents. Her kindness, generosity, and radiant smile made her not just a protector, but a beloved figure in the neighborhood. Donna had many fond memories of the children she crossed and would often run into them as adults (5, 10, 20 or even 40+ years later). She gave them the same love as adults as she did back when they were kids.
Donna’s grandkids always joked that she had more of a social life than them. Her best friend and partner in crime, Diamante “Dee” Marino, stood by her side to the very end. She loved spending time with Dee, her “card club,” and her Hillsdale neighbors. She was almost always out and about enjoying life with the ones she loved.
Donna will be deeply missed on this Earth, but we know she is now in Heaven, most likely enjoying a beer and Lays potato chips with those who greeted her. Although, in true Donna fashion, she likely first mowed the lawn as soon as she arrived in Heaven – just as she did here, where she loved caring for her own and everyone else’s too. Heaven’s lawn will never look better now that Donna is there.
