Edward B. Meyer

Age 79, of Mt. Lebanon, peacefully on Monday, November 1, 2021. Devoted son of the late Charles R. and Sarah (Cox) Meyer; older brother of Robert C. Meyer (his partner Patrick Shea); also survived by countless firefighting family members, friends and neighbors. Ed was a life member with both the Mt. Lebanon and the Bower Hill Fire Departments. He was a Career Platoon Chief with Mt. Lebanon and had retired after 55 years of service. Ed, affectionately known as ‘Fuzz’ or ’140’, was a communication specialist and electronic technician who was very involved in creating and maintaining the emergency 911 system for Mt. Lebanon.  He had a passion for trains both as a means of transportation with several trips and his model train collection. Friends will be welcomed at Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon on Thursday from 4:00pm until the Firefighter Tribute at 7:00 o’clock. Services will be held in Southminster Presbyterian Church, 799 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon on Friday morning at 10 o’clock. Interment in Jefferson Memorial Park. If desired, Ed would appreciate memorials be made to the Volunteer Fire Company of Mt. Lebanon, 555 Washington Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15228 or Bower Hill Volunteer Fire Company, 161 Vanadium Road, Bridgeville, PA 15017.
