Eileen Ann Klisavage

Eileen Ann Klisavage, age 91, of Castle Shannon, passed away peacefully, at home, on Monday, October 21, 2024.

Daughter of the late Domnic and Margaret Nowicki; beloved wife of Bernard A. Klisavage; mother of Bernard J. (Alice), Karen (the late Alex) Vilchis, Michael (Joan), Paul (Sandy), Brian, Valerie (Ernest) Gigliotti and the late Daniel James; sister of the late Margaret “Peggy” (Andrew “Flo”) Lutz and Rita Alberta “Bert” (Richard) Mancuso; grandmother of Renee Brewer, Gary Rethage, Megan DelSignore, Patrick Klisavage, Christine Ervin, Rachel Bodi, Taylor Gigliotti, Lacey Gigliotti, and Jake Gigliotti. Eileen is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.

Eileen was married for 71 years to Bernie, her high school sweetheart from St. Mary of the Mount High School.  Bernie provided for the family as the owner of Bernie’s Pharmacy in Dormont. Together they raised seven children in a warm, loving home and saw that they were educated in Catholic schools. She always made sure that her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren had what they needed, and holidays were always special, filled with traditions and wonderful memories. She supported her children in all of their school and community sports and activities, and used her master seamstress skills and creativity to make costumes for dance performances, Tamburitzans, musicals, as well as beautiful prom dresses and wedding gowns for family members. In good times and in hard times, her Catholic faith never wavered. She had a seemingly countless collection of holy cards and had a Novena to pray for every challenge in life.  Eileen had a special love and dedication to St. Anne and to Our Blessed Mother. 

Friends received on Friday, October 25, from 4-8pm at Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 1008 Castle Shannon Blvd. Pittsburgh, PA 15234. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 26, at 9:30am at Saint Paul of the Cross Parish, Saint Anne Church, 400 Hoodridge Dr. Pittsburgh, PA 15234. Interment to follow in Saint Anne Cemetery.
