Age 92, of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Ann Shahady, and sister of the late Loreace Lewis. She is survived by her husband George Colosimo; children, John R. (Marty) Colosimo, Bob (Donna) Colosimo and Therese Colosimo; grandchildren, Sarah (Nate) Beck, John M. (Janine) Colosimo, Abbey Schaffer, Jacquelin Schaffer, Kristine (Ben) Colosimo and Katherine Colosimo; great-grandchildren Piper Beck, Portland Beck, Ian Colosimo and Isla Colosimo; sisters, Evelyn Anderson and Catherine (Tom) Klosky; and many nieces and nephews.
Elizabeth and George were married for 70 years. She was a devoted wife and mother to three children, who were her pride and joy. George and Elizabeth later moved to Florida for an early retirement and remained there for over 30 years. During that time, she enjoyed participating in water exercises, bowling, line dancing, playing bridge, and traveling to many wonderful places around the world. She believed that exercise was an essential ingredient for a good life and was excited to start her own water aerobics class at Cochran Hall when they returned to Pittsburgh. She was an early morning riser, who spent her days reading biographies, baking cookies, and drinking frappés. Elizabeth lived a good life.
In lieu of flowers, please honor Elizabeth’s memory by enjoying a Starbucks Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino, which was her favorite!
Interment will be private to the family.
