Ellen P. Fox

Ellen “Ellie” P. Fox, age 92, formerly of Bethel Park, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Saturday July 27, 2024, of heart related problems.  Ellie was the beloved wife of George R. Fox, Jr. (deceased), mother of Randy (Anne) Fox and Bill (Faye) Fox; proud grandmother to George R. Fox IV, Carrie Fox (Greg Koch) and Kelly Hido (Dan); proud great-grandmother of Henry Koch and Charlie Koch. Ellie is also survived by her nephews, Eric (Cheryl) Johnson and Joe (Nichole) Barr and her niece, Mary (Charlie) Schiller. Ellie was the daughter of the late William and Kathryn Perry of Franklin, Pennsylvania where she spent her formative years living happily with her beloved sisters, Trish Johnson (Buddy), now deceased and Mary Dorothy Barr (Joseph Barr), now deceased.  Ellie and her beloved husband, George, enjoyed 55 years happily married prior to George’s death.  

Ellie was blessed with a kind heart and a sweet disposition. She was a homemaker who enjoyed participating in Bethel Park Welcome Wagon for many years. Ellie especially loved Christmas and acquired an impressive array of Christmas decorations over the years which she proudly displayed from Thanksgiving to mid-January. She created special relationships with each of her grandchildren, taking them out to lunch and toy shopping every week.  In her last years, she was a resident of Concordia of the South Hills where she enjoyed her wonderful friendship with “Leslie” across the hall.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday August 3, 2024, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church of Canonsburg, Pa. at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 139 N. Jefferson Ave., Canonsburg PA. 15317.  Ellie loved her “church friends” who were so kind to her over the years, especially Susan Pollard and her family, Canon Cathy and Fr. Jim.
