Frances B. (Krotec) Miller

With great sadness, the Miller family (Dormont) announce the peaceful passing of their mother Frances Miller (nee Krotec) just three days prior to her 91st birthday on June 13th. “Frannie” was the beloved daughter of Anna and Joseph Krotec (Lawrenceville) and sister to treasured siblings Helen Krotec, Marge Simcic, Joseph Krotec, Albert Krotec, and Richard Krotec (Linda Krotec nee Jeffers). Mom embodied her favorite adage that “Mothers are the Heart of the Home.” Frances and husband Joseph (deceased 2020) were married for 62 years. Together, Fran and Joe raised their five children Mary (Foley), Deborah (Weber), Thomas, Monica (Daniel Insogna), and Christine (deceased 2021) and enjoyed their four beautiful grandchildren (Layla Foley, Jeffrey Novak, & Michael and Danica Insogna). Fran’s renowned cooking skills, kind-heartedness, and upbeat humor were second only to her being a devout Catholic (St. Catherine of Siena Church, Beechview). She found tremendous strength, joy and comfort in her faith. If one knew Fran Miller, certainly they experienced her unwavering desire to promote her faith in the Lord. May the memory of lovely soul Frances continue to be an inspiration and guiding light to family and friends. Rest easy, Nanny! Family and friends will be received at Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes 222 Washington Road Mt. Lebanon on Sunday from 1-4 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered in St. Catherine of Siena Church - St. Teresa of Kolkata Parish on Monday at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Teresa of Kolkata Parish 1810 Belasco Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15216.
