Fran grew up on Polish Hill. She spent most of her married life in Dormont where she raised her six children. Fran was widowed at age 50 and never remarried, choosing instead to dedicate her life to her children and grandchildren. A long-time member of St. Bernard Church in Mt. Lebanon, she served for many years on the Altar Society, receiving the Manifesting the Kingdom Award from the Diocese of Pittsburgh in 2003. Fran also volunteered for years at the Oliver Miller Homestead, a historic site in South Park, where she helped to revive the open- hearth cooking program and worked in the Trading Post. Fran will always be remembered for her quick wit, positive attitude, many mispronounced Polish sayings and her lack of height. Friends will be received at Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes 222 Washington Road Mt. Lebanon on Tuesday from 4-8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered in St. Michael the Archangel Parish, St. Bernard Church, on Wednesday at 10:00 AM.
