Francisco Xavier De Goa, age 91, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025. A lifelong lover of beauty, elegance, and faith, Francisco lived a rich and vibrant life.
Born in Zanzibar, Tanzania, Francisco was a gifted architect whose passion for design was matched only by his love of travel and culture. He embraced the finer things in life — stylish clothes, exquisite cuisine, dancing, and a perfectly made Irish coffee. A voracious reader and thoughtful conversationalist, he was known for his intellect, warmth, and impeccable sense of style.
Though he never married, Francisco deeply valued family. He was a devoted brother, uncle, and friend, and was cherished by his many nieces, nephews, and all who knew him. He is survived by his siblings: Glory (Edward) Nazareth, Oscar (late Cynthia) De Goa, the late Ceasar (late Thelma) De Goa, and Valentina (Agnel) De Silva, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Francisco's life was anchored in faith. He attended Mass daily, prayed with a fervent heart, and gave generously of his time as a volunteer in his parish community.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Bernard Church, St. Michael the Archangel Parish, 311 Washington Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15216. All who knew and loved Francisco are welcome to join in honoring his life.
