Age 74, of Mount Lebanon, unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, with his wife and daughter by his side. Beloved husband for 45 years of Susan A. (Barcic) Cecchetti; loving father of Gina V. Cecchetti; devoted son of the late Elmo and Virginia (Locanto) Cecchetti; proud brother of Gregory Cecchetti and the late Elmo B. Cecchetti; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Frank was born January 24, 1949, and was raised in Arnold, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Arnold High School, and matriculated to Duquesne University, earning both his bachelors and law degrees. Frank, with a sense of public service learned from his father, joined the Allegheny County Public Defender Office, where he was a trial attorney and supervisor. After 20 years, Frank used his skills to advocate for young people who found themselves on the wrong side of the law. He earned a reputation for strong advocacy and compassion as well as the respect of judges and his fellow attorneys. Frank always regaled in sharing his colorful stories from childhood adventures, Duquesne enthusiasm, army experiences, and lawyerly war stories, all done with his inimitable dry wit and understated humor. He was an avid reader, loved horse racing and college basketball. Frank was also great at impersonating Roy Orbison. He enjoyed spending time in Marco Island, Florida but his special hideaway for relaxation was the 140-acre Cecchetti Family Farm in Armstrong County, where he would always relax floating in the swimming pool with an open book. His treasured family and friends will miss his charm and sense of humor, but memories of Frank will forever bring a smile to their faces. Friends will be received at Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 222 Washington Road, Mount Lebanon on Monday from 4:00 until 7:00 pm. Service and interment will be private.
